Basics of no-limit hold'em

The boom of no-limit hold'em started when Chris Moneymaker won the World Series of Poker main event for a whopping 2.5 million dollars. No-limit hold'em is played by dealing up to 10 players at a table 2 cards each. These cards are known as the players hole cards because no one else can see them because they are exclusive to you only. In a normal table there would normally be nine seats and each seat has a name depending on where they are from the dealer button. The dealer button moves down one seat after a hand has finished playing. The seat to the left of the button would be the small blind, the player who is in the small blind seat has to put up a forced bet which is usually half of the big blind. The big blind is the seat left of the small blind, similar to the small blind the big blind has to put in a forced bet which is dependent on what stakes the table is. Example: The table is $1/$2 the small blind would be the smaller amount while the big blind would be the bigger amount. In this case the small blind would be $1 and the big blind would be $2. The seat to the left of the big blind is called under the gun, which is the first person who acts pre-flop. The seats to the left of under the gun is under the gun+1, early middle position, middle position, late middle position, hijack, and cutoff in that specific order. This is just the basics of how to play no limit hold'em, there is a lot more to be taught about the game.
